The club had a busy Bank Holiday weekend kicking off on Friday night honouring the 1966 St Joseph’s Minor team in Hartes. On Saturday we had the annual golf classic in Castle Dargan. On Sunday morning we held Mass in the Clubhouse and thanks to Rev A.B. O’Shea who celebrated the Mass. On Sunday night we honoured the 1990 and 1992 Championship winning teams along with inducting Hugh McGonigle into the Hall of Fame. The winner of the 2014 Senior Player of the Year was Paul Higgins and Junior Player of the year was Gearoid McTiernan. Thanks to the many people who contributed and helped to make the weekend a great success.

The winners of the FBD Sponsored first prize at the Golf Classic were Sean Carroll, Mark Boyd and Colin Harte. 2nd Prize sponsored by Flancare were Mark Reilly, David Larrigan and Brian O'Loughlin. 3rd were Vincent Dwyer, Raymond Barlow, Tony Ballintine. 4th were Mickey Beatty, Eugene Carroll, Sean Carroll. 5th were Benny Deignan, Kevin Conlon, Dave Donovan and 6th were Adam Kearns, Philip Kearns, James Kearns. The boys U14 team reached the League Final by defeating Coolera/Strandhill at home in the semi-final last Friday on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-7. The team was: Gareth Keville, Ryan Brennan, Aaron McKenna, Ryan Fitzpatrick (0-1), Shane McCann, Niall McGovern, Sean Carroll (0-3), Christian Monaghan (0-1), Conor Kearns, Darragh Kelly (1-2), Eoin Dywer (0-2), Lee Deignan, Paul Leydon (0-1), Patrick Kenny (0-1). Subs: Brendan Hailstones (1-1), Johnny Kenny, Dylan Mullen, Eoin Dodd, Sean Mullen, Ryan Thompson. They now play Tubbercurry in the League Cup final this Friday evening at 7.00PM in Scarden – please come out and support.

Both U12 Boys teams had good wins over Tubbercurry last Tuesday.

There was no winner of the Lotto last weekend. The Jackpot now stands at €1,700 with the next draw on Saturday 20th in McTiernans, Gleann.

The club wish to express sympathy with the Galvin family and relatives on the sad death of Michael last week and the Martin family on the death of Philip Martin, Kilmactranny last week.
