There was one new addition to the executive with Sheona Leydon added as an Assistant Pro. Chairman Lauri Quinn, Secretary Ursula Lyons and Joint Treasurers Mary Quinn and Stephen Rooney submitted their reports for the year to the meeting.

In his report, Lauri Quinn thanked all who contributed to the success of the club in what was a very difficult year. He congratulated the Ladies team and management on winning the Junior title and Bord Na Nóg on a very successful year, reaching a number of finals and winning the Minor Boys and U12 Girls Championships. He also thanked everyone who helped manage our games during covid restrictions, covid supervisors, players and all management teams for their cooperation in ensuring we complied fully with all the protocols laid down by Croke Park. He also acknowledged it was a difficult year for fundraising with a number of activities severely curtailed due to Covid, a situation which will have to be addressed in 2021 and he asked all players, members and supporters to assist and support fundraising ventures this year. He thanked Mary Quinn and Stephen Rooney for their careful management of the finances during a difficult year. He also confirmed that the club had applied for Sports Capital Funding for upgrades at the grounds including making them more accessible. He thanked Michael Brennan, John Quinn and Philip Kearns who we are indebted to for their maintenance of our grounds, spending countless hours ensuring the pitches and surrounds are to the highest standard for our players and patrons. He congratulated Cormac Kearns on his election as Treasurer of Sligo County Board. He also noted Andrew Kearns is currently engaged on the mammoth task of preparing our club history covering the first 50 years of our existence. This is an onerous undertaking and he thanked Andrew and his working group for their work to date. He confirmed the appointment of Glen McDermott as Senior Manager and Shane Quigley as Junior Manager for the year ahead and wished them well. The Healthy club committee's walk/run challenge came to an end on Sunday and after 3 weeks of activity, the Gals N Pals team have just shaded it clocking up an average of 1.66KM more than the Lads N Dads. There was a total of 18,969KM covered by the teams over the 3 weeks - almost made it to Melbourne via New York. However, the Lads N Dads have an opportunity to close the gap as a new challenge has been added for the final week. There has been a significant amount of feedback on the amount of litter on all of the routes walked over the last three weeks and in conjunction with Riverstown Tidy Towns and Sligo County Council, the two teams will pick up litter across the Club area with bonus KM's given to the team who collects the most bags of litter. Thanks to the Healthy Club committee of Marina Swann, Brenda Crowley, Eileen Benson, Shirley McKenna, Majella Muldowney, Sharon Dineen and Joe Quinn for organising this initiative, one of many in the last twelve months.

25th January 2021
It was with sadness that we learned of the passing of our club Patron, Kieran McDermott. A native of Riverstown, Kieran was an iconic figure in GAA circles and gave a lifetime of service to the GAA including a spell as Chairman of the County Board. Kieran played his football with Knockalassa, a formidable back he was on the Knockalassa team who won the Foley Cup Divisional Final in 1968 having lost three finals in a row. He went on to win a second title in 1969 and while both teams made their respective county finals, they had no success losing to Mullinabreena by two points in 1968 and losing to Grange in a controversial final in 1969. Kieran played on the last Knockalassa team ever to field in 1971, prior to the amalgamation with old rivals Sooey to form Shamrock Gaels. It was a proud moment for Kieran in 1992 when as County Board Chairman, he presented the Owen B Hunt Cup to Gaels captain Noel Willis when we won our second Senior County Championship. We wish to express sympathy to his wife Nuala, children Garrett, Dara, Niamh and Ciarán and the wider McDermott family and friends on Kieran's passing. He was a true gentleman. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

The club is pleased to announce Glen McDermott will continue as Senior team manager for 2021 while Shane Quigley has been appointed Junior team manager. We wish them both well for the year ahead. The backroom teams will be confirmed at a later date.

Congratulations and best of luck to Johnny Kenny who signed a professional contract with Sligo Rovers last week. It is certainly a proud moment for him, his family and the community as he follows in the illustrious footsteps of his father, Johnny.

Members may have noticed the new 'smoke free zone' signage at the pitch. This is another important step forward under our Healthy Clubs initiative and we would ask for our members and supporters help in adhering to the new policy.

4th January 2021
The Club would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our members, players and supporters a Happy New Year.  We are all glad to see the back of 2020 and while we now head into a difficult January, we can only hope that 2021 will be a better year for all of us.

Tickets for the National Club Draw are now in circulation and with fundraising activities severely curtailed in 2020, this draw is critically important to us to finance the year ahead. Tickets cost €10 each and 100% of all tickets sold go to the club with the GAA financing all of the prizes including a first prize of a Renault Clio. We will be circulating tickets to all members, players and parents in the coming days and we hope you will support this important fund raiser.
