The club will be celebrating our 50th year with a special Dinner Dance in the Clayton Hotel on Saturday 22nd October with special guest, Pat Spillane, one of Kerry's all-time greats. We will also have the covid delayed medal presentation to the 2020 Championship winning ladies' team, the U19 Boys who won the B Championship this year and the player of the year awards. It was a great week on the playing fields with the Gaels capturing four county titles, qualifying for the senior men championship semi-finals, qualifying for the Senior ladies Junior A championship final and our Junior team making it through to the A Championship final.

The Junior team had a great 0-9 to 1-5 win over Cloonacool in the semi-final of the Junior A Championship. In a tense game, the Gaels overturned a second half four-point deficit with Brian Boyd the hero of the hour scoring the point to take us level and then a fantastic effort from the left to give us a deserving victory. The Gaels now play St Molaise Gaels in the final in two weeks. The team was: Ultan McKenna, John Craig, Declan Willis, Shane McCann, Gavin McMorrow, Eoin O'Connell, Patrick Barrett (0-1), Conor Merrick, Arron McKenna, Dylan McKenna (0-1), Brian Boyd (0-3), Conor Kearns, Seamus Hailstones (0-1), Frank Quinn (0-1), Steven Willis (0-2). The senior men take on Tourlestrane in the semi-final of the championship next Sunday at 4.15PM in Markievicz Park, please come out and support the team in this vital game. 

Well done to the U18 girls who won the C Championship final against St John's on Tuesday on a score-line of 7-10 to 3-3. The U17 Boys lost the A championship semi-final to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on Sunday on a score-line of 3-12 to 2-11. The team was: Sean Kelly, Steven Smith, Oisin Conlon, Matthew Potter, PJ Scanlon, Jack Tuohy, Sam Tuohy, George Barlow, Ciaran Kenny, Jack Brehony, Brian Dwyer, Daniel King, George Collins, James Foley, Niall Kenny. The U16 girls won the B Cup championship final against St Nathys on Saturday in an exciting game on a score-line of 4-12 to 4-9. The team was: Casey Wilkinson, Katie Gilligan, Ava Lyons, Lousie Robertson, Leah Mullaney, Hannah Sheridan, Sophia Rose Henry, Leanne Galvin, Penny Barlow (1-1), Ciara Gilligan, Amy Malone (0-6), Marissa Hamilton, Maya Wojchowska, Orlaith Scanlon (2-5), Amy Brehony. subs used: Hayley Mullaney, Aoibhinn Conlon, Hannah Hargadon, Amy Bagnall, Anna Bagnall, Clara McGovern, Hannah Rainey and Lyn Barlow (inj) . The U15 boys continued the clubs good run this week with a win in the C Cup final over Tourlestrane on a score-line of 8-9 to 3-8. The U13 Boys won the A Shield final against Eastern Harps last Monday on a score-line of 9-7 to 2-21. This high scoring game featured some great scores taken from both sides with Gaels taking control in the fourth quarter to run out winners. The panel for the final was Eli Rogers, Sean Tonry, Joseph O'Connor, Alan OG Henry, Dillion Barrett, Ethan Medas, Jack Burns, Daniel Kearns, Miceal Garry, Oran Conway, Josh McTiernan, Clive Barlow, Cillian Barlow, David Malone, Sam Rainey, Evan Wimsey, Phillip McManus, Eli Rogers, Keelan Henry, Leon McMorrow and Harry Brehony. The Senior Men had a good 4-13 to -0-14 win over Calry/St Josephs in the last group game to set up a semi-final meeting with Tourlestrane. The Senior Ladies finished their final group game with a 2-10 to 0-2 win over St Michaels. They now qualify for the Junior A Championship final against the winners of Drumcliffe/Rosses Point and CT Gaels on Saturday October 8th. 

The U18 girls play St John's in the C final on Tuesday in Ransboro at 6.00PM.
 
The U17 boys concluded the group stages of the championship this week. On Monday they had a 1-18 to 3-9 win over St Molaise Gaels and had a 3-16 to 3-7 win over Easkey/St Farnans on Friday. They finished second in the group and have home advantage in the semi-final against Drumcliffe/Rosses Point next Sunday at 5pm.

The U15 boys play the C final in Scarden on Thursday at 6.15PM - please support.

The U14 girls lost by the narrowest of margins in the A shield final on a score line of 5-4 to 5-3 to Eoghan Rua. Thanks to the management team of Fiona Lyons, Jessica Sweeney, Gus Chapman and Aoife O'Connor for all their work with the girls this year - a great year, winning the A shield League final and narrowly missing out on the championship.

We finished our Saturday morning coaching with a fun morning of games and treats last Saturday. All the children had a great time with refreshments for the parents. Thanks to the senior men and ladies who joined the session. Thanks to all the children who played with the club in what was a most enjoyable year. A special word of thanks to all the Saturday morning coaches who have worked with the players this year who are a vital part of our club.

The winners of the monthly draw were, Mary Kearns, Martin Cassidy, Bernard Mulhern, Conor McMorrow and Brenda Parke.

The numbers drawn in the lotto draw were 4, 8, 18 and 20. There was no jackpot winner and we had 2 match 3 winners, Donal Tuohy and Tommy Cawley Snr. The jackpot now stands at €3,400 with the next draw on Monday 26th.

The club wish to express sympathy with Aoife Clancy and the Clancy family on the passing of her mother, Philomena Clancy, Rathcormac.

The Junior B Men's team narrowly missed out on a quarter final place with a 1-10 to 1-7 loss to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point. The team was: Stephen Keegan, Niall Whelan, Adam Kearns, Conor McGrievy, Keith McMorrow, Damien Lyons, Luke Flynn (1-3), Jarlath Lyons, Patrick Kenny, Paul Leyden (0-1), Keith Candon (0-1), Patrick O'Grady (0-1), Brendan Hailstones, John Paul Henry, Johnny Kenny. Subs: Joe Quinn (0-1) for B Hailstones, Adrian McCann for A Kearns, Callum Kennedy for J P Heny, James Kearns, Brendan Baker. Thanks to the management team of Diarmuid Jinks, Anthony Connolly, Nigel Hargadon and Michael Brennan for their work with the team this year and a special word of thanks to the veteran players and those who came out of retirement to ensure we were able to field a third team in Junior B league and championship. 

The Junior A Men's team had an impressive 5-14 to 1-13 win over Curry to make the semi-finals of the Championship. The team was: Jack Duignan, John Craig, Declan Willis, Shane McCann, Patrick Barrett, Eoin O'Connell, Gavin McMorrow, Aaron McKenna, Conor Merrick, Conor Kearns, Brian Boyd, Dylan McKenna, Steven Willis, Frankie Quinn, Seamus Hailstones. Subs used: David Barlow, Luke Flynn, Paddy O'Grady, Joe Quinn, Aodhan Eivers.  

The Senior Ladies had a one-point win over CT Gaels in tough conditions on Sunday morning on a score line of 2-4 to 1-6. A last gasp free from Lara Swann gave Gaels the win and a guaranteed semi-final place. The team was: Mairéad Tuohy, Siobhan Brennan, Ellie McDermott, Hannah Willis, Louise Merrick, Aoife Morrisroe, Naomh Quinn, Isobel Clark, Ruby Clark, Erin Mullaney, Ceili Faughnan, Leanne Galvin, Jade Lyons, Orlaith Scanlon, Jane Bensons Subs used: Rachel Boyd, Lara Swann and Ciara Gilligan. They now play St Michaels in their final group game at home on Sunday at 10.30AM.

The Senior men had a comprehensive 1-20 to 0-7 win over Tubbercurry in the Championship last Sunday. The team was: Daniel Lyons, Ben Tuohy, Evan Lyons, Shane Barry, Karl McKenna (0-1), Paul Higgins, Ciaran O'Connor, Conor Sheridan (0-2), David Quinn (0-6), Darragh Hailstones (0-4), Liam O'Connell (0-1), James Carroll, Lee Deignan (0-2), Dylan Willis, Shane Deignan (1-3). Subs: Conor McMorrow (0-1) for J Carroll, Dillon McDermott for D Willis, Johnny Quinn for D Hailstones. They now take on Calry/St Josephs in the final group game next Sunday in Markievicz Park at 3.30PM.

Hard luck to the U13 boys who lost the C semi-final to Coolera/Strandhill last Tuesday. After a slow start our lads faced an uphill battle but never stopped working and reduced the margin to one point however, Coolera/Strandhill ran out winners on a score line of 2-15 to 2-11. Well done to the lads for all their hard work this year. Our U13 boys A team play in the final on either Tuesday 20th or Wednesday 21st.
 
We had both U12 girls teams competing in championship finals last Saturday and while neither team came away with silverware, it was great to see 35 girls togged out, some in their first final for the club. Team 1 lost to Eastern Harps on a score-line of 11-6. The panel was Luaithne McTiernan, Eva Usher, Sara Willis, Nicole Parke, Kayla Clancy, Katelyn Henry, Sophie Edwards, Orla Jane Feakins, Rachel Mullaney, Naomi Flynn, Abigail Conlon, Siofra Costello, Grace Mullen, Lilly O'Brien, Khloe Kate Hamilton, Kyra Leonard, Clodagh Galvin and Analise Rooney. Team 2 lost to a strong St Mary's side on a score-line of 11-3. The panel was: Savannah Cox, Lana Hughes, Lauren Orr, Eva Callaghan, Makayla Davey, Neveah Cassidy, Rebecca Garry, Ciara Scanlon, Sinead Gilligan, Alice Foley, Meabh Tonry, Casey McLoughlin, Kate Flaherty, Abbie McTiernan, Leah Carmody, Aoibheann McTiernan, Ciara Byrne. The Senior team got their first points of the campaign with a 2-17 to 1-11 win over Curry last Saturday in difficult conditions in Bunninadden. The U17 boys had a busy week. First up was St Mary's where we shared the points on a score-line of 3-7 to 3-7. The team was: Sean Kelly, Matthew Potter, Jack Tuohy, PJ Scanlon, Leo Scanlon, Oisin Conlon, Steven Smith, Ciaran Kenny, George Barlow, Aaron Coleman, Brian Dwyer, James Foley, Niall Kenny, Jack Brehony, Daniel King subs used: Kailen Hannon and Joris Rooney. They then lost to Eastern Harps on Sunday evening on a score-line of 4-14 to 1-14.

The U15 boys play St Pats in the C Cup semi-final this Thursday at home at 6.30PM.
 
The U13 Boys A team had a good 3-11 to 5-8 win over Drumcliffe/Rosses Point last Friday in the shield semi-final qualifying for the final at a date to be confirmed.
 
The U13 Boys C team play in their semi-final away to Coolera/Strandhill on Tuesday at 6.00PM.

Both U12 girls teams won their respective semi-finals last Friday. Team 1 played CT Gaels and won by two points while team 2 defeated Tourlestrane. Team 1 play Eastern Harps and team 2 play St Mary's in the finals with both games in Scarden on Saturday at a time to be confirmed.

The U11 boys had two great games against St Mary's last Thursday.
 
The U10 girls travelled to Eoghan Rua last Saturday while the U8 girls participated in a blitz hosted by St Mary's.

The U7 boys and girls played Drumcliffe/Rosses Point last Wednesday.

The Senior Ladies lost 5-9 to 3-9 to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in the second round of the Championship. The team was: Mairead Tuohy, Leanne Galvin. Ellie McDermott, Siobhan Brennan, Meabh Callaghan, Aoife Morrisroe, Jade Lyons, Ruby Clark, Isobel Clark, Ceili Fughnan, Naomh Quinn, Erin Mullaney, Orlaith Scanlon, Jane Benson, Rachel Boyd. Subs: Roisin Kearns for E Mullaney, Kate Brehony for M Tuohy. They have a break next weekend.

The Senior Men's teams are back in action next weekend. First up is the Junior B team who take on Tubbercurry at home on Friday at 7.00PM while the Senior Team take on Curry in Bunninadden on Saturday at 6.00PM and the Junior A team take on St Marys in Ballymote at 4.00PM on Sunday - please support.

The U17 boys play St  Mary's away on Monday at 7.00PM and also play Eastern Harps on Sunday at home at 5.00PM. 

The U16 girls drew with Tourlestrane in their last group game on a score line of 2-7 each. The U13 Boys A team lost 3-10 to 2-7 to Geevagh/St Michaels last Tuesday. The team was: Eli Rogers, Eoghan Conboy, Joseph O' Connor, Eoin Feeney, Alan Og Henry, Ethan Medas, Miceal Garry, Daniel Kearns, Evan Wimsey, Clive Barlow, Josh McTiernan, Dillion Barrett, David Malone, Cillian Barlow, Jack Burns. Subs used Oran Conway, Sam Rainey, Sean Tonry, Phillip McManus. They now play Drumcliffe/Rosses Point away on Friday at 7.00PM in the Shield semi-final.

The U12 girls team 2 had a 20-10 win over Geevagh last Friday. They now play Tourlestrane in the Bronze shield semi-final away on Friday at 7.00PM. The U12 girls team 1 play CT Gaels in the silver shield semi-final on Friday at 7.00PM in Riverstown Park.

The U11 boys play St Mary's at home on Thursday at 6.30PM. 

The U9 boys had a blitz on Wednesday last against Geevagh and St Michaels, thanks to Geevagh for hosting.

The U8 girls will play in a Blitz in St Mary's on Saturday next in Kent Park. 

The U7 boys and girls play Drumcliffe/Rosses Point away on Wednesday at 6.45PM.

It was a mixed weekend on the field with championship wins for our Junior B and Senior Ladies while the Senior Men and Junior A teams narrowly lost their respective championship outings. 

It was, however a historic weekend with the club fielding three senior mens team in Championship for the first time with 52 different players seeing action - a testament to the work done down through the years at all levels in the club. 

The first team out was the Junior B team who had a comprehensive 6-25 to 0-4 win over Easkey on Friday. It was great to see a number of old faces back in Championship action in the maroon and white. The team was: Ultan McKenna, Andrew McGrievy, Declan Willis, Patrick Barrett, Dylan McKenna, Adrian McCann, Keith McMorrow, Jarlath Lyons (0-2), Patrick Kenny, Mark Kearns (0-2), Damien Lyons (0-4), Adam Kearns (0-2), Brendan Hailstones (3-1), Keith Candon (0-3), John Paul Henry (2-5). Subs used: Niall Whelan, Eoin McDermott (1-0), Callum O'Kennedy (0-1), Conor McGrievy, Paddy O'Grady (0-3), Conor McDonagh. Johnny Kenny (0-2). Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Andrew McGrievy who sustained an injury in the game. 

The Senior men lost by two points to St Marys on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-14 in the first round of the Championship. The team was: Daniel Lyons, Karl McKenna, Evan Lyons, Ben Tuohy, Ciaran O'Connor, Paul Higgins, Sean Carroll, Conor Sheridan, Dillon McDermott, David Quinn, Liam O'Connell, Darragh Hailstones, Lee Deignan, Shane Deignan, Conor McMorrow. Subs: Shane Barry for K McKenna, Dylan Willis for D Hailstones.

The U11 and U9 boys enjoyed games against Owenmore Gaels this week. While the U10 and U8 girls played Eastern Harps at home.

The U7 boys and girls had an enjoyable game against Dromahair last week with some great skills on display.

Next weekend will be an historic one for the club as we field four adult teams in Championship. First up is the Junior B Side who take on Easkey on Friday at home at 7.30PM. On Saturday, the Men's Senior team take on St Mary's in Markievicz Park at 7.00PM, this game will be streamed live on Sligo GAA TV for those away from home. On Sunday, the Senior Ladies take on Owenmore Gaels in the Intermediate Championship at home at 10.30AM while the Men's Junior team take on St Molaise Gaels in the Junior A Championship at 4PM in Ballymote. The U14 girls had a good 2-9 to 2-0 win over Eoghan Rua the opening game of the championship. They now play CT Gaels on Monday at home at 7.00PM.

On Friday last the club fielded two U12 girl's teams in the Championship. Team 2 won against Geevagh while team 1 lost to Eastern Harps. Next Friday Team 1 play CT Gaels away at 7.00PM while Team 2 have a bye. 

The U11 boys had two very enjoyable games last week against Eastern Harps in Ballinafad. This Tuesday they play St Johns at home at 6.30PM. 

The U10 girls participated in a blitz in Cuilbeg on Sunday and played games against hosts St Johns, Owenmore Gaels, St Marys, Coolera and St Molaise Gaels. Thanks to St Johns for hosting a very enjoyable tournament. The girls now travel to Curry on Tuesday at 7,00PM for their next game.

The Senior Ladies had to dig deep against Eoghan Rua in the final group game of the league. In a tightly contested game, the sides were level going into injury time but a strong finish saw the Gaels run out winners on a score line of 4-6 to 3-14. This game was effectively a semi-final with the winners securing a league final spot against St Nathys. This week we lost our founding Chairperson, Paddy Joe Quigley after a long illness and many tributes to Paddy Joe have been left on the club's facebook page. He was a lifelong supporter of the GAA at club, county and national level and the club are indebted to him and the other founding members for the legacy they have left us with. This legacy is well documented in the citation written by Andy Kearns for Paddy Joe's induction into the Shamrock Gaels Hall of Fame in 2018 and can be read here. The club wish to express sympathy with Teresa, Brenda, Marie, Shane and all the Quigley family, relatives and friends on the loss of Paddy Joe. Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam.

The U10 girls had games against Geevagh and St John's this week while the U8 girls played St Mary's and St John's all games were very enjoyable and the girl's progression is clear to see week to week. 

The U9 boys had good games v St John's at home on Wednesday and they play Drumcliffe/Rosses Point this Wednesday away at 7PM.

The U15 girls participated in Division 2 at the Connacht Feile last Saturday. They won their first game against Shannon Gaels however lost narrowly to Balla and Furseys in the group stages. We then competed in the semi-final against Furseys of Galway. After a slow start, we came back in an exciting second half but lost out by three points on a score line of 2-5 to 2-2. The U13 C boys drew 1-16 to 1-16 after extra time against Coolaney/Mullinabreena in the quarter final last Friday in an excellent game of football. They will now meet in the replay on Tuesday at 6.30PM at home. The U11 boys hosted a blitz last Tuesday with Coolaney/Mullinabreena and Geevagh and although the weather wasn't so favourable there was lots of great football and skills on display, Thanks to the refs on the night..

We had a clean sweep at the weekend with all four adult teams winning.

First up were the Senior Men Division 4 team who had a 3-12 to 0-8 away win over Geevagh. Stephen Willis (0-1), Jarlath Lyons (0-3), Keith Candon (0-3), Paul Leydon, Adam Kearns (0-3), Brendan Baker (1-0), Subs used: Eoin McDermott (1-0), Arron McKenna, Callum Kennedy, Daniel O'Hara, Jay Rodgers (0-1). Welcome back to Keith Candon and Paul Leydon and great to see them back in the Gaels colours. They now take on Bunninadden away on 5th June.

The Senior Ladies then had a comprehensive 5-12 to 0-7 home win over St Michaels in the Division 2 League on Sunday morning. The team was: Mairead Tuohy, Lisa Callaghan, Amy Healy, Catherine Tuohy, Lousie Merrick, Ellie McDermott (0-1), Hannah Willis, Ruby Clark, Isobel Clark, Aine O'Connell,  Naomh Quinn (0-1), Erin Mullaney (1-0), Ceili Faughnan (2-5), Rachel Boyd (2-1), Jade Lyons (0-1). Subs used: Siobhan Brennan, Makayla McLoughlin (0-2), Roisin Kearns, Jane Benson (0-1), Clodagh Costello. 

The Senior Men Division 3 team were next up and they put in a great performance to narrowly edge out St Pats at home on Sunday afternoon on a score-line of 2-9 to 1-11. Subs used: Dylan McKenna, Keith McMorrow, Conor Sheridan.  They now play St Marys away on Saturday 4th June. 

The U17 boys participated in a 7-a-side competition against Geevagh/St Michaels and Eastern Harps and with two wins and one loss, they advance to the Cup final group where they will take on Easkey/St Farnans, St Marys and Ballymote/Bunninadden on Tuesday with the games commencing at 6.30PM. The squad for the evening was: Sean Kelly, Jack Tuohy, Steven Smith, George Barlow, Ciaran Kenny, Niall Kenny, Brian Dwyer, Keilan Hannon, Aaron Coleman, Jack Barrett, Joris Rooney, Adam O'Carroll and Leo Kennedy.

Sub used:- Maya Woichowska. Their final group game was at home on Wednesday against Geevagh where they had a comfortable 4-15 to 0-6 win. The U15 boys lost the B quarterfinal to Easkey/St Farnans last Thursday.

The U13 boys C team play Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on Tuesday at home at 6.45PM while the A team play on Wednesday, also at home at 7PM in Coola against Drumcliffe/Rosses Point.

The U12 girls lost 10 to 9 against Curry in the B semi-final. They now go into the shield final on Saturday 4th June with venue and time to be confirmed.

The U11 girls play St Mary's on Wednesday at 7PM away. 

The U11 boys played St Mary's in a good game on Tuesday evening they had no game this week. 

The U7 boys and girls play Eastern Harps this Wednesday away at 6.30PM.

The U7 boys and girls took to the field Wednesday evening at home for their first outing in the Gaels jersey. They played Coolera/Strandhill with some great scores and they had loads of support on the evening which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

The club were saddened to hear of the passing of John Joe McGoldrick, Sooey, who for many years was the custodian of our clubhouse.  We wish to express sympathy with his relatives and friends on his passing. Having lost to St John's in the first game, they went on to defeat CT Gaels and then had a good win against Eastern Harps in the semi-final before overcoming St Mary's by a single point in a tight final encounter. The Boys U13 C and A teams play St Molaise Gaels away this Wednesday at 6.30PM and 7.30PM.

The U12 girls had a good win against Geevagh in the final group game last Thursday and await results of other games to see who we play in the quarter final on May 13th. 

The U11 and U9 boys had very enjoyable games with Eastern Harps last week.

The U11 girls enjoyed their first game of year against Calry last week with some great skills on display, while the two U10 Girls teams also played Eastern Harps in two very enjoyable games. They now play Owenmore Gaels at home on Tuesday at 6.30PM.

The U7's have their first game of the year at home this Wednesday at 7.00PM against Coolera/Strandhill.

We were really sorry to hear of the tragic passing of Marguerite Kilfeather, Rosses Point and we express our sincere sympathy to her daughter Marguerite Medas and family and nephew Alan Henry and all of the Kilfeather family, relatives and friends on their sad loss.

The club were shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Red Óg Murphy and we wish to express sympathy with the Murphy family, relatives and friends at this difficult time. The club also wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Bridie Hennigan, Dromard and Mary Kelly, Castledargan who died recently. We also express sympathy with Jimmy Scanlon on the passing of his sister, Nora Conway, Dublin.

We held our annual underage awards ceremony this weekend and our guest of honour was Paul Henry who presented winners medals to the U12 Girls A Championship Winners and League Runners up, U14 Girls A2 Championship, Girls U15 Feile Shield, Girls U16 B Championship winners and U17 Boys A Championship winners. Well done to the Player of the year winners - U18 - Meabh Callaghan, U17 - George Barlow, U16 - Lara Swann, U15 - Leo Scanlon, U14 - Hannah Hargadon, U13 - Cillian Barlow, U12 - Alaesha Sweeney, U11 - Orla Jane Feakins, U11 - Karl Barlow and U10 - Eva Callaghan. Overall player of the year was Conor Sheridan. 

The club also made a special presentation to our three members of the successful Sligo U17 Connacht winners, Conor Sheridan, Conor McMorrow and Jack Duignan.

As part of our ongoing celebrations of our 50th Anniversary, we held a Schools Blitz last Friday at Shamrock Gaels park for the National Schools in the area. We had 13 teams from 3rd to 6th class with 175 children taking park - thanks to Ardkeerin, Cloghogue, Coolbock, Kilross, Sooey and Taunagh  for taking part in what was a most enjoyable morning

We were back on the field this week and first up were the Boys U15 team who had a comprehensive win over Tourlestrane in the League. The team was Eli Rodgers, Alex Clark, Joseph O'Connor, Alan Óg Henry, Tadhg Kenny, Matthew Potter (2-0), Leo Scanlon (0-1), Rian Conway (2-1), Jack Brehony (2-7), Charlie King (0-10, Liam McDermott (1-1), David Malone (2-0). Subs: Dylan White, Josh McLoughlin (2-1), Sean Doherty. They now play Owenmore Gaels at home on Thursday at 6.30PM. 

The Senior Ladies had a good 2-15 to 2-6 win over Owenmore Gaels in the warm up league. The team was: Meabh McDermott, Lisa Callaghan, Eillis O'Connor, Aisling Boyd, Siobhan Brennan, Naomh Quinn, Meabh Callaghan, Isobel Clark, Louise Merrick (0-2), Rachel Boyd (0-1), Jane Benson (0-3), Erin Mullaney (0-3), Clodagh Costello (0-1), Mairead Tuohy (1-1), Róisín Kearns (1-1). Subs: Meabh Lyons (0-2), Sophie Swann.  They now play Owenmore Gaels again next Sunday away in the league at 10.30AM.

The U17 boys lost to a strong Eastern Harps side in the first round of A league. The team was: Brian Dwyer, Adam O'Carroll, Oisin Conlon, Joris Rooney, PJ Scanlon, Daniel King (0-1), Jack Tuohy, Ciaran Kenny (0-2), George Barlow, Matthew Potter, Niall Kenny (0-1), Sean Kelly, Steven Smith, James Foley (2-8), Aaron Coleman Subs used Ryan Parke and Leo Kennedy. 

The U16 girls play St Molaise Gaels on Wednesday at home at 6.30PM in the first round of the league.  

The U14 girls play CT Gaels in the league on Monday 6.30PM in Tubbercurry. 

The U13 boys Division 1 and Division 3 teams play St Mary's on Monday at 5.45PM and 6.45PM in Kent Park. 

The U12 girls narrowly lost to Eastern Harps in their first game of league last Friday. They now play Owenmore Gaels at home on Friday at 6.30PM.

The 2021 underage awards will be presented next Saturday 26th March at 6.00PM in Riverstown Hall. 

Thanks to all who participated in the St Patricks Day parade to mark the 50th Birthday of the Club which was founded on March 17th 1972 when local rivals Sooey and Knockalassa amalgamated. We also celebrated with a Mass in Riverstown Church on Friday to remember our founding members and all members who have passed away since the foundation of the club. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha. Thanks to Rev AB O'Shea for celebrating the Mass. 

Well done to our Scór participants who represented the Club at the County Finals in Ballintogher at the weekend. We had Meabh Harte competing in the Solo Singing, George Barlow, Oisín Conlon, Brian Dwyer and Daniel King competing in the Quiz. We won the Instrumental Music title and were represented by Amy Bagnall, Lisa Golden, Ava Kennedy and Chloe McCann who now go through to the Connacht Final on Saturday 2nd April in Ballinasloe.   

We are back on the field this week with the first games of the year taking place. The U15 boys play Tourlestrane away on Thursday at a time TBC.  

The U12 girls play Eastern Harps away on Friday at 6.15PM. 

The U17 boys play Eastern Harps away on Sunday at 11am. 

The Senior Ladies play Owenmore Gaels at home in the warm up league on Sunday at 10.30PM.

This is a special week in the history of the club as we were formed 50 years ago in 1972 on St Patricks Day when local rivals Sooey and Knockalassa amalgamated to form Shamrock Gaels. To mark the day, we will be participating in the St Patricks Day parade - all players, members, managers, coaches, parents and supporters are welcome to join - wear your club colours and meet on Mail Coach Road at 11.30AM.

The Gaels will celebrate 50 years in existence this year. The club was founded on St Patricks Day in 1972 when old rival clubs Sooey and Knockalassa amalgamated. We are currently working on our comprehensive history book which will be published next year and we also plan to have a number of events celebrating a successful 50 years in 2022, so watch this space.

At the Club's AGM last weekend, all officers were returned for the incoming season with the addition to the Executive of Nadine Barrett, Majella Muldowney and Roisin Kearns who is also appointed as an additional Assistant Pro. 

Well done to Sligo LGFA who showed great character to earn a draw against Louth at the weekend. The Gaels were well represented with Aoife Morrisroe, Jade Lyons and Ellie McDermott who was making her debut for the senior team. 

We were delighted to receive funding from the Sports Capital Grant in last week's announcement which will help to make our grounds more accessible to the community. Thanks to all who helped in the application especially Enda Candon, Darren Clancy, Majella Muldowney and Cara Tighe. We still have to match the funding with our own fundraising and a number of projects were part of the application including walkway and lighting around the pitch, wheelchair access throughout the grounds,  showers upgrades and behind the goals net upgrades. 

We are continuing with our 'Ireland Lights Up' walking in Riverstown Park every Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 8PM for the month of February - all are welcome.  

The club wish to express our sincere sympathy with Club member and former player, Paul Corcoran and family on the sad passing of his wife Michelle last weekend. We also express sympathy with the family and relatives of Billy O'Connell, Riverstown who died last week.

There will be a Bord Na Nóg meeting on this Wednesday 9th Feb in the Clubhouse at 8.00PM. 

At the Bord Na Nóg AGM last week, the existing officers were confirmed for another year, Chairperson, Martin Cassidy, Secretary, Michelle McMorrow and Treasurer, Stephen Rooney. Also, at the Senior Club meeting, all outgoing officers were re-confirmed for 2022. 

We are delighted to announce that Mark Tuohy, Keith McMorrow and Vinnie Boyd have been confirmed as the Junior A management team for 2022 - we wish them well for the year ahead.  

There was no winner of the lotto draw last week with the numbers drawn 9, 12, 18 and 20. Martina Scanlon matched 3 numbers and wins €100. The jackpot now stands at €1,800 with the next draw on Monday 14th Feb.

We will be holding the Senior Club AGM on Sunday 6th February at 6.00PM in the clubhouse while the Bord Na Nóg AGM takes place on Tuesday 1st February at 8PM, also in the Clubhouse. We would appeal to all members, players and supporters to attend as we are always in need for assistance for the year ahead.
