The U14 girls Division 2 side lost their final group game to St Molaise Gaels. They now play Coolera/Strandhill in the Shield semi-final away on Tuesday at 7.00PM. The Division 3 team polay St Patrick's/St Farnans on Wednesday at 6.30PM in Riverstown Park.
The U13 C boys won their final group game against Castleconnor last Friday. It was a very competitie game with the sides level after the first and second quarters however the Gaels pulled away to win on a scoreline 6-18 to 3-12. This now sees them qualify for Cup semi-final. The U13 A boys play St Johns on Thursday at 6.30PM in Riverstown Park in the league quarter-final.

The U18 boys lost to a strong Owenmore Gaels side last Thursday. They now play Coolaney/Mullinabreena away next Thursday at 6.30PM.
The U16 girls start their league campaign on Thursday away to Eoghan Rua at 7.00PM.
The U15 boys had a good 4-10 to 3-3 win over Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in their opening game league last week. They now play St John's away on Tuesday at 6.30PM.
The club are delighted to be in a position to field two u14 girls teams this year. Our Division 3 team lost to a strong CT Gaels team last Monday.
Both U13 boys teams got their league campaigns off to wining starts last week. The U13 A defeated St Marys 3-8 to 2-8 in very difficult conditions last week and now play St John's away on Friday at 6.30PM. The C team recorded a 6-8 to 0-7 win over St John's and now play St Molaise Gaels away on Monday at 6.30PM.
The U12 girls team had a very enjoyable game against St Mary's in the opening round of go games last Friday. This Friday both U12 girls teams play St John's away - the U11's at 6.15PM and the U12's at 7.15PM.

It was with sadness that we learned of the passing this week of two former club officers, John Moore, Ballisodare and Joe Gildea, Riverstown. John was a former Chairperson of our Bord Ná Nóg and was also involved in coaching in the club. A minutes silence was held at the recent Club meeting in John's memory. Joe Gildea had a long association with the club down through the year and also served as Treasurer of our Bord Ná Nóg. We express sympathy with their families, relatives and friends on their passing. We also express sympathy with the family, relatives and friends of Noreen Currid, Dublin and formerly of Sooey who passed away last week.

We held our senior awards night in McDermott's, Castlebaldwin last Saturday where Noel Gallagher, Vice Chairperson of the County Board presented our Men's senior team with the 2023 Division 1 winners medals. Ciaran Kenny was presented with the Boyd memorial cup for Senior player of the year by Brian Boyd on behalf of the Boyd family. Bridie Connolly presented Aarron McKenna with the Intermediate Player of the year on behalf of the Connolly family while John Joe Connolly presented Niall Henry with the Junior Player of the Year award on behalf of the Connolly family. The Devina Duncan memorial Cup for Ladies player was awarded to Louise Merrick with the award presented by Simone Moss to Sharon Merrick on behalf of Louise. Congratulations to all the winners.
We also formally inducted former Chairperson, Seamus Cawley into our Hall of Fame. Current Chairperson, Andy Kearns read the citation on the night and the full text can be seen in this weeks Sligo Champion and Weekender and will be posted on line shortly.

As part of our Healthy Club initiatives, we have been successful in an application for a social initiative between the GAA and Specsavers to establish a connection between older and more vulnerable members of our community. Under this initiative, we plan to organise a trip to the Sligo NFL game against Antrim in Markievicz Park on Sunday 25th February. We plan to organise a bus, tickets and some refreshments on the day and it would be great if we could reach out to members of our community who would be interested in this trip - please contact Marina Swann on 086 8589048 if you know someone who may be interested.

The club was saddened to learn of the passing of Michael Boyd, Letterkenny at the weekend. Michael would have played for the Gaels in the early days of the club and we express sympathy with Vivion, Pat and Alexis and all of the Boyd family and friends on Michael's passing.
