The Senior Div 1 team had a good 1-17 to 1-9 win over St Molaise Gaels on Saturday and now take on Tourlestrane away next Saturday at 7.00PM.
 
The Senior Div 3 team drew with Eastern Harps at home last Friday on a scoreline of 0-16 to 1-13. The team was: Jack Duignan, Sam Tuohy, Declan Willis, Mikey Barry, Jack Brehony (0-5), Gavin McMorrow, Arron Coleman, Patrick Kenny, George Barlow (0-1), Conor Kearns, Darragh Hailstones (0-6), Brendan Hailstones, Steven Willis (0-3), Seamus Hailstones, Niall Kenny (0-1). The U18 boys play Tourlestrane in the B2 Shield final at home on Tuesday at 6.30PM.
 
The U15 boys lost the A quarter final to St Mary's last Monday on a scoreline of 3-15 to 3-10.
 
The U14 girls Division 3 team play Geevagh/St Michaels on Tuesday in Geevagh at 7.00PM.
 
The U14 girls Division 4 team lost to St Molaise Gaels in their final group game on a scoreline of 1-17 to 3-7. The team was: Shauna McTiernan, Aoife O'Connor, Ciara Byrne, Lauren Orr, Bronagh Conlon, Lauren Kearns Chapman, Sarah Jayne Scanlon, Savannah Cox, Niamh Kennedy, Amy Edwards (1-4), Victoria Barlow (2-1), Kate Jinks (0-2), Hollie White sub used: Aoife Garry.
The U13 boys received a walk over from Calry/St Joseph's last Friday. They now play Ballymote/Bunninadden in Bunninadden. on Friday at 7.00PM.
 
The U11 girls play Eoghan Rua 2 at home on Friday at 7.00PM.
 
The U11 boys are away to St Molaise Gaels on Tuesday at 7.00PM while the U9 boys play St Molaise Gaels at home on  Wednesday at 6.30PM.
 
The U10 and U8 girls have a busy week with 2 games. Geevagh and St Michael's provide the opposition on Monday at 6.45PM and St Mary's on Wednesday at 7.30PM, both at home.
 
The U7 boys and girls enjoyed their first outing for the club on Thursday last. Thanks to Ballymote for hosting.

The Div 3 men's team lost the Spring League final to St Farnans on Saturday on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-11. The U15 girls competed in Feile last Monday. We recorded a good win over Geevagh/St Michaels but lost to strong opposition from Coolera/Strandhill, Calry/St Joseph's and St Mary's in the other games. It was a busy day in very warm conditions where all 14 girls played their part. The team was: Amy Edwards, Sophie Edwards, Clodagh Galvin, Rebecca Garry, Sinead Gilligan, Meabh Tonry, Kate Flaherty, Ciara Scanlon, Ciara Byrne, Lauren Kearns Chapman, Lauren Dorey, Siofra Duignan, Eva Callaghan and Eva Usher.
 
The U15 boys play St Mary's in the A league Quarter final at home on Monday at 7.00PM.

The U13 boys came out winners against Owenmore Gaels  in a very entertaining game last Friday on a scoreline of 2-15 to 2-10.
The team was: Conan Sweeney, Cillian Conboy, Brian Merrick, Kian Burns, Caelan Flynn, Darragh Quigley (1-10), Daire Flynn, Niall Usher (0-4), Dylan Leydon (0-1), Michael O'Connor, Maverick Lyons, Frankie Willis, Leo Byrne, Euan Bergin (1-0), Daithi Scanlon, Alfie McTiernan and Ben Caliendo. They now play Calry/St Josephs on Friday at home at 6.00PM.
 
The U12 girls played Geevagh/St Michaels last Friday and showed some great skills during the game. They now face Tourlestrane on Monday at 7.00PM in Riverstown Park.
 
The U11 girls played St Nathys away on Friday last in an entertaining game with the girls showing great improvements every week.
 
The winner of the 50/50 special bank holiday draw was Debbie Thompson who won €1,000.
 
Best wishes to all the boys and girls from the club who are making their Communions and Confirmation last Saturday and in the coming week.
 
Well done and congratulations to Arrow Harps Senior Ladies who won the Connacht Shield Final at the weekend.  
 
The club wish to express sympathy with Margaret, John, Eugene and Kathleen Galvin and the wider Galvin family and friends on the passing of Padraig. Padraig's grandchildren Penny, Karl, Victoria, Leanne and Clodagh all play with the Gaels. The Monday morning 'Tea in the Park' due to start tomorrow has been postponed as a mark of respect for Padraig.

The Gaelic for Mother's and Others (G4M&O) are back training every Monday from 8-9PM in Riverstown Park. It's a fun way to meet new people and no experience or fitness level required. New members always welcome, just join on Monday at 8PM.

The Men's Div 1 team lost to Coolera/Strandhill 1-14 to 1-11 last Saturday. There is no game next weekend and their next outing is in two weeks at home to St Molaise Gaels.
 
The Men's Div 3 team had an impressive 3-7 to 1-12 win over Castleconnor last Friday. The team was: Sean Kelly, Sam Tuohy Paul Brennan, Michael Barry, Seamus Hailstones, Conor Kearns, Jack Brehony, David Barlow, Patrick Kenny, Brendan Hailstones, Darragh Hailstones, James Carroll, Steven Willis, Dylan Willis, James Foley. Subs used: Niall Kenny, Conor McMorrow,  George Barlow, Jason Kilkenny. They now play St Farnans next weekend in the Spring League final.
 
The Men's Div 4 team play Coolera/Strandhill next Friday away at 7.30PM.
 
The U18 girls lost 5-7 to 3-5 to St Molaise Gaels in the Division 1 Cup semi-final. The team was: Hannah Hargadon, Marissa Hamilton, Leah Coleman, Molly Kearns Chapman, Aaleasha Sweeney, Maya Wojciechoowska, Ava Lyons (0-1), Katie Gilligan, Hannah Rainey, Orlaith Scanlon (0-1), Aisling Dwyer (1-0), Penny Barlow (2-3), Isabelle Clancy sub used: Clodagh Galvin.
 
The U18 boys lost to Castleconnor in their final group game of the league.
 
The U16 girls got their league campaign started on Monday last with a 1-21 to 2-6 win over Eoghan Rua. The team was: Abbie Mc Tiernan, Rachel Mullaney, Aleesha Sweeney, Eva Usher, Molly Kearns Chapman, Leah Coleman, Clodagh Galvin, Penny Barlow, Katie Gilligan, Roisin Kelly, Sophie Edwards, Aisling Dwyer, Ella Thompson, Siofra Deignan, Shanara Middleton. subs used Kaitlyn Henry, Lauren Dorey and Rebecca Garry.
 
The U15 boys recorded a good 3-17 to 2-14 win over Coolera/Strandhill in their last group game. The U15 girls participate in Feile this Monday in Geevagh with games commencing at 10.00AM.

The U11 girls played both Coolera/Strandhill and Ballymote this week with their skills improving with every game and now play St Nathys away on Friday at 7.00PM.
 
The U11 boys play Drumcliffe/Rosses Point at home on Tuesday at 6.30PM while the U9 boys play the same opposition away on Wednesday at 7.00PM.

The club wish to extend best wishes to Sergeant Terese Duignan who retired last week after 18 years service in Riverstown and thank her for all the support to the Club over her time in Riverstown. We also wish Fr Yashin the best of luck as he takes up a new role in Roscommon and we welcome Fr Declan Boyce to the parish.

They now play St Pat's/St Farnans away on Sunday at 10.30PM.
 
The Div 4 men's team had a good 1-14 to 2-6 win over St Michaels on Sunday morning. Sub used: Diarmuid Jinks. Their next game is away to Coolera/Strandhill on Friday 9th May at 7.30PM.
 
Our Div 1 team gave an impressive performance in the first round of the league with a 2-17 to 2-12 win over St Marys at home. The Gaels dominated throughout and were ten points up going into the final quarter but playing into a very strong wind left conditions difficult in the closing stages with Mary's capitalising and closing the gap but the Gaels held on to earn a deserved win. They now play Coolera/Strandhill away next Saturday at 6.00PM.
 
The U18 boys lost 3-7 to 5-5 to Easkey/St Farnans in difficult conditions last Tuesday. The team was: Eli Rogers, Diarmuid Feely, Joseph O’Connor, Clive Barlow, Conor Feeney, Daniel Kearns, Tadhg Kenny, Miceal Garry, Jack Brehony, Eoin Feeney, Fionnan Duffy, Rian Conway, Charlie King, Josh McTiernan, Troy Kelly, subs Alan Og Henry and Dylan McMorrow. They now play Castleconnor away on Tuesday at 6.30PM.
 
The U18 girls play the league cup semi-final on Thursday at 6.30PM away to St Molaise Gaels.

The girls play their final group game against Geevagh/St Michael's away on Wednesday 7th May.
 
The U14 Division 4 team suffered their first defeat in a very entertaining high scoring encounter last Friday evening on a scoreline of 5-15 to 6-4. The team was: Shauna McTiernan, Clodagh Galvin, Ciara Byrne, Lauren Orr, Aimee Mullaney, Bronagh Conlon, Lexi Mullaney, Savannah Cox, Sarah Jayne Scanlon, Lauren Kearns Chapman, Kate Jinks, Amy Edwards, Aoife O' Connor, Kate Murrin and Victoria Barlow sub used Aoife Garry. The Division 4 team play their final group game on Friday 16th May against St Molaise Gaels.

They now play Coolaney/Mullinabreena at home on Friday at 6.30PM.
 
The U12 girls play St John's 2 in Riverstown Park on Friday at 7.30PM.
 
The U11 girls had a very enjoyable game against St Molaise Gaels in the first round of their go-games last Monday. The team was: Croiaidh Maguire, Ciara Ryan, Aoife Quigley, Anna McMahon, Nicole McMorrow, Rachel Gillogley, Aimee McMorrow, Lilly Ryan, Robyn Henry, Emily Jinks and Catherine Conlon. They have a busy week coming with games against Coolera/Strandhill on Tuesday at 6.30PM  and then Ballymote on Friday at 6.30PM both in Riverstown Park.
 
The U11 boys play Curry away on Tuesday at 7.00PM while the U9 boys play host to Curry at home on Wednesday at 7.00PM.

The Senior men are back in action next weekend with all three teams commencing their league campaigns. The Div 3 team take on St Marys at home on Friday at 7.30PM while the Div 4 team take on St Michaels at home on Sunday at 12.00PM and the Div 1 team get their campaign started on Sunday at home to St Marys at 2.00PM.

In a closely contested first half with only two points separating the sides at half time, the girls came out in the second half and scored 3-4 without reply seeing them finish comfortable winners on a scoreline 5-12 to 3-2. Our U9 and U11 boys had their first outings of 2025 with some very entertaining games against Eastern Harps last week. The U9 boys host Ballymote this Wednesday at home at 7.00PM.
 
The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Bridie Fallon, Coolbock who died last week and we also express sympathy with Ciaran Byrne on the passing last week of his father Tom, Rochestown, Cork.

The Senior team drew 1-12 to 1-12 with Enniscrone/Kilglass at the weekend in the Spring League. They kick off their league campaign in two weeks with a home game against St Marys.

The U14 girls Division 3 played their first league game against a strong St Pats/St Farnans last Monday in Templeboy. The home side were comprehensive winners on a scoreline of 6-12 to 1-6. The Club is hosting a two-day Easter Camp, Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th April, in Riverstown Community Park from 10-2. The Senior men lost 1-10 to 0-10 to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in the Spring League. They now play Enniscrone next Saturday away at 6.00PM.

Our Senior ladies team lost to Curry in the first round of the league on a scoreline 4-15 to 0-7.

The U18 boys lost to Tubbercurry/Cloonacool in their opening game of the league on a scoreline 3-17 to 4-7. They now play Calry/St Joseph's Tuesday at home at 6.30PM.

The U18 Girls lost to a strong Eoghan Rua side last Thursday. The team was: Hannah Hargadon, Marissa Hamilton, Clodagh Galvin, Leah Coleman, Ava Lyons (1-2), Maya Wojciechowska, Katie Gilligan, Penny Barlow (1-1), Hannah Rainey (0-1), Molly Kearns Chapman (0-2), Aaleasha Sweeney (0-2), Amy Brehony, Isabelle Clancy.

The U15 boys play St John's on Monday at home at 6.30PM in and St Mary's on Thursday at 6.30PM in Kent Park.

The U14 Division 3 girls play St Pats/St Farnans away on Monday 7.00PM and then play Drumcliffe/Rosses Point away on Wednesday at 7.00PM.

The U14 Division 4 team got their league campaign off to a winning start with a 3-5 to 2-4 win over Owenmore Gaels on Wednesday. The team was Keeva Clancy, Clodagh Galvin, Aimee Mullaney, Ciara Byrne, Niamh Kennedy, Lauren Orr, Elyse Medas, Sarah Jayne Scanlon (1-1), Savannah Cox,  Lola Cunnane, Amy Edwards (0-1), Lauren Kearns Chapman, Hollie White Kate Jinks (1-0) and Victoria Barlow (1-3).  They now play Eastern Harps away next Friday at 6.30PM in Ballinafad.

The U13 boys got their league off to a winning start in a high scoring encounter 7-15 to 4-19. The panel on the evening was Conan Sweeney, Daire Flynn, Kian Burns, Caelan Flynn, Brian Merrick, Cillian Conboy, Ben Calliendo, Dylan Leydon (1-3), Euan Bergin, Darragh Quigley (3-11), Micheál O’Connor (1-0), Frankie Willis, Maverick Lyons (1-1), Daithi Scanlon (1-0), Leo Byrne and Alfie Mctiernan, with all players playing their part. 

The U11 boys play Ballymote away on Tuesday at 7.00PM while the U9 boys host Ballymote at home on Wednesday at 7.00PM.

We held a Drug and Alcohol awareness workshop last Monday in partnership with the GAA and the Drug & Alcohol Task Forces. Thanks to coordinator Christina McEleney from Donegal ETB for her very informative talk and to Nadine Barrett and Sligo Folk Park for giving us the use of their facilities and to all who attended the talk.
 
It is great to be back on the field with full football activity commencing this week and a busy schedule ahead. 
 
The Junior team has a good 3-11 to 2-8 win over Tourlestrane in the Spring League while the Senior team also got off to a winning start with a 1-14 to 0-11 win over Coolera/Strandhill. Scorers for the Senior team were: Sean Carroll (1-0), Ciaran Kenny (0-1), James Foley (0-1), Luke Flynn (0-1), Dillon McDermott (0-8), Joe Quinn (0-1) Karl McKenna (0-1). George Barlow (0-1).
 
Both teams are out again next Saturday with the Junior team away to St Marys at 3.00PM and the Senior team away to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point at 6.00PM.

We are hosting a Drug and Alcohol awareness workshop tomorrow evening, Monday 24th March, in partnership with the GAA and the Drug & Alcohol Task Forces. The workshop is at 8PM in Sligo Folk Park and is open to parents, coaches and club members who want to support young athletes and their well-being.

Thanks to all who supported what was a great night at our Dinner Dance last Saturday evening. The annual player of the year awards were presented with the Karl Galvin U20 player of the year award going to Daniel King presented by Lisa Galvin on behalf of the Galvin family, the Connolly Family Cup for Junior player of the year went to James Carroll and was presented by Michael Brennan on behalf of the Connolly family. The Vincent Boyd Cup for senior player of the year was presented to Oisin Conlon by Andy Kearns on behalf of the Boyd family.  The Davina Duncan Cup for Ladies player of the year went to Isobel Clark. We also made special presentations on the night to former chairperson, Lauri Quinn for his contribution to the Club, Evan Lyons to recognise his selection on the Tailteann Cup in 2024 and Club President Tommy Deignan made a special presentation to Johnny Kenny in recognition of his recent success on the national stage. 
 
Well done to Conor McMorrow and Sean Carroll who won a Junior colleges title with DCU last week.

The club also wish to express sympathy with the Taaffe family on the passing of Tommy after a long illness. Tommy played with the Gaels in his early days, winning a county minor title in 1973 and an U21 county title in 1975 before going on to play his senior football with the newly formed Ballintogher Club and then St Michaels.

The Healthy Club Committee would like to congratulate all who took part in the MyLife challenge which concluded last week. We more than doubled our goal of 4,000KM and with 44 participants walked 8,189KM, the equivalent of walking from Sligo to Los Angeles and placing us at 36th out of 135 Connacht Clubs participating - well done all.

We held our annual underage Merit Awards last weekend and also presented medals to the U13 Girls Autumn league runners up, U16 Girls Div 1 league shield winners, U15 Boys Div 1 shield winners, U17 Boys Championship shield winners and the U18 Boys league shield winners. The winners of the merit awards were, U10; Rachel Gillogley and Conan Sweeney, U11; Kyron Cox and Lexi Mullaney. U12: Cillian Conboy and Elyse Medas, U13; Karl Barlow and Lauren Orr, U14; Clodagh Galvin, U15; Fionnan Duffy, U16; Sophia Rose Henry, U17; Jack Brehony, U18; Joris Rooney and Ciara Gilligan. The overall winner was Sean Kelly.  We also made a special presentation to Leanne Galvin in recognition of winning the Minor B All Ireland and Connacht titles last year. Thanks to Storylab for creating the presentation and thanks to the Kearns' family for their continued sponsorship of these awards.

Peter Joe was a great GAA supporter and the Henry family have a long history with not only Shamrock Gaels but also Sooey and Knockalassa.
